Tres Marias Amazons are very affectionate, and they are famous for their intelligence and communicativeness. They are very sensitive to their owners’ mood, but can be a little sullen during mating periods. They are the subspecies of the Magna Double Yellow-headed Amazon.

Tres Marias Amazons are excellent family companions, and appreciate attention and sufficient exercise. They weigh about 504 grams (males) and 473 grams (females) and measure 14 inches in length on the average. They are quite rare, and go for about $1500 on the average.
