Chicks look great in pictures which is one reason why breeders sell them so easily.
In captivity Timnehs can live up to 70 years. It is possible to determine the approximate age of a relatively young parrot by the color of the iris. Hatchlings have black iris, which inclines toward light gray by age of 6 months, and by 3-4 years it turns pale-yellow.
