Native to the Mexican Tres Maria Islands, the Tres Maria Parrots are a very rare subspecies of the Amazons and are often confused with the double-yellow headed Amazons subspecies. Very few have been seen in the wild, as they inhabit small islands used as a penitentiary. They differ only in that Tres Marias lack the black barring on chest feathers and yellow on the wings. Yet, like their cousins they are great talkers and singers.
