The Bourke's parrot has been a subject of controversy and until recently, it was not considered a parrot breed. The color pattern of Rosa Bourke's parrot ranges from a deep, rich salmon pink, and a varied pink to brown crown and face which differs from the basic green of other parrots. However, it had the same feather pattern and was reclassified. An excellent beginner's bird, it socializes well with other bird species.
