Released white doves are an expression of love, peace, purity, innocence, and spirituality since the 5th century. The difference between doves and pigeons is determined mostly by size. Doves are generally sleeker and smaller with pointed tails, while pigeons are larger and stockier with rounded tails. The most common doves kept as pets are the Ringneck and Diamond Doves.
