The Diamond Dove is a member of the Columbidae family, within the order Columbiformes, including some 300 species of near passerine birds. The Diamond Dove feeds on seeds and small fruits. Their fragile nests are made of sticks and the two white eggs are cared for by both sexes. Unlike most other birds, the doves and pigeons produce a substance called "crop milk" which is fed to their young by slothing of fluid-filled cells from the lining of the crop. The young doves are called "squabs." Their range is within North and Inland Australia. Another name for this bird is Little Turtle Dove.
