The Ring-necked type is the most common type of this bird. Males of this type are very colorful, and have a long, narrow, streaming, tapered tail, as well as a rooster-like bill, and a spurred tarsus. Their head and neck are iridescent purplish green. They have red cheeks and a coppery breast.
