Female peacock chicks are quite small; breeders should know their ins, outs, and peculiarities. Peafowl are able to breed at the age of two years. Peahens usually lay from 6 to 8 eggs. The common name of these birds can be applied only to males; other birds should be called peahens. Peahens are smaller than males. Males usually weigh 9-13 pounds and peahens weigh 6-9 pounds.
