It is recommended to buy birds from a good aviary and check the health condition of the chick. The Umbrella Cockatoos should be provided with fresh supply of fruits and vegetables every day. Their diet should consist of 1/4cup of formulated food and 1/4cup of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. It is also important not to forget about daily supply of fresh clean water. It is recommended to buy birds from a good aviary and check the health condition of the chick.

Parrots of this species are very active and should be provided with the cage that should be as large as possible. There should be enough room in the cage for the bird to have an opportunity to fully spread its wings. They should also have an opportunity to fly outside the cage daily.
