Some birds are kept for eggs or meat production, some are kept for exhibitions and others are just beautiful, funny family pets. Keeping francolins as pets is becoming now quiet ordinary. In captivity, these birds live in aviaries. They are rather hardy creatures, although some shelter should be provided during the coldest winter months.
