Pet Classifieds

The pet classifieds are a significant resource of birds from nearly every breeder in the area. Ducks are widely spread farm birds. Approximately 22 million of these birds are raised every year in the USA. These farm birds are kept mostly for meat, but some of them are raised also for eggs. The most widely spread commercial species of ducks is the Pekin breed. In the wild, ducks can be found in wetlands, marshes, ponds, rivers, and lakes, in general on any territory near water. There are some species of wild ducks that migrate or travel long distances every year to breed. Ducks of different species differ from each other in colors and sizes. The pet classifieds are a significant resource of birds from nearly every breeder in the area.

In spite of many predators, these birds are common in most parts of the world, because of their adaptability, early maturity and high reproductive range. There are usually 9-15 ducklings in a brood. Ducklings are unable to fly, which makes them easy prey not only for avian predators, but also for large fish, fish-eating birds such as herons, and other aquatic hunters. Terrestrial predators, like foxes, feral dogs and others, raid ducks’ nests for eggs and ducklings. In flight, these birds may fall a prey of falcons or eagles. The pet classifieds are a significant resource of birds from nearly every breeder in the area.
