A crain's picture is so interesting because you don't often see them; a breeder, however, may get to work with them on a daily basis.
The people called Aztec that got their name from these birds. Aztecs are people from the region Aztlan which literally means "near the cranes" (azta cranes, tlan near). The bird is also considered auspicious in Japan as one of the symbols of longevity and represented with other symbols of long life.
