The crane indiana range is shared with many bird species and cannot be obtained through breeders.
The feathers on the wings can be white with brown tips. The young birds molt to the white and black plumage at 1 1/2 years. The whooping species is one of our most familiar birds because it has become the symbol of our efforts to save endangered species.
