These birds like to bathe; they derived such sheer enjoyment in bathing that it is good to give them such opportunity several times a week. They also like to play and chew that is why it is necessary to provide them with lots of wooden toys to keep them well occupied.

In the wild, parrots of this species can be found in the arid zones of western Ecuador and northwestern parts of Peru. They are rather good talkers and are easy to tame; these parrots can be very loud. They grow to up to 13 inches and weigh 5.8-6.5 ounces.
