The American Bald Eagle

The american bald eagle is not usually found in an aviary unless it's a rescued chick. These birds of prey are famous for their wonderful ability to soar without flapping their wings for a long time. They are able to fly at the altitude of 10,000 feet and reach the speed of 35 mph. The respiratory system of these birds is very efficient. They can conserve energy and are well adapted to cold. These are fierce-looking birds that are genuine national birds of the United States. The sexes look alike, though females tend to be larger than males. The adults are distinguished by the white head and tail. These features appear at about the age of five years. The bird was once classified as an endangered species. It has regained its number at present. It ranges on the territory of North America, inhabiting evergreen trees and cliffs near water.
