There is much debate over differences and similarities in behavior. Some people believe that Congos are more shy and are more prone to plucking due to neurotic behavior. Both sub-species make good pets and are famous for their talking abilities.

African Grey Parrots -

There are two sub-species called Congos and Timnehs with appearance differences manifesting in color and size. Congos are usually larger and have bright red feathers on the tail. Timnehs are darker in color with the tail being maroon and the upper mandible bone-colored. African grey parrots are often in a picture with another bird.
